One-year workmanship warranty
Benco Remodeling LLC warrants its workmanship for twelve months from the date the work is completed. If a finish fails in that time because of how we did the job, we come back and put it right at no charge to you.
The terms below are deliberately specific. A warranty that does not say what it excludes is not worth much to either of us, and we would rather you knew exactly where you stand before the work starts.
What is covered
Finishes that fail on their own
Peeling, blistering, flaking, lifting, or cracking of the finish where the cause is how the work was carried out — surface preparation, application, or coating build.
Separation at the lines we cut
Edges at ceilings, trim, and corners that open up or pull away without the surface having been disturbed.
The whole surface, not a patch
Where we are at fault we repaint the full wall, ceiling, or trim run, corner to corner. A spot touch-up rarely matches in sheen, and a visible repair is not a repair.
What is not covered
The warranty applies where we are at fault. It does not make us responsible for damage we did not cause.
Mechanical damage
Impacts, scuffs, scrapes, dents, gouges, and abrasion from furniture, appliances, equipment, pets, or ordinary use.
Anything fixed to or removed from the surface
Adhesive hooks, decals, stickers, mounting tape, nails, screws, wall anchors, shelving, and picture hangers — including damage caused when they are taken back off. A warranted surface is one that has been left undisturbed.
Paint and materials themselves
This is a warranty on our labor. Defects in the paint, primer, or other products — colour drift, batch faults, premature fading, or chalking — are the manufacturer's responsibility and are not covered here.
Customer-supplied paint
Where you provide the coatings, we will apply them properly, but we cannot warrant a result that depends on a product we did not select. Jobs using customer-supplied paint carry no workmanship warranty.
Work by others after we finish
If another trade, contractor, tenant, or handyman works on a surface we painted, the warranty on that surface ends. We cannot stand behind a finish once someone else has altered it.
Causes outside our control
Moisture, leaks, condensation, flooding, humidity, smoke, structural movement, settlement cracking, substrate failure, and damage from storms or accidents.
Ordinary wear
Normal fading, dulling, and wear consistent with the age of the finish and the traffic the room sees.
The rest of the terms
- Twelve months from completion. The period runs from the date the work is finished, not from the date of the estimate or the deposit.
- The original customer only. This warranty is not transferable. If the property is sold, it does not pass to the new owner.
- Labor, not consequences. Our obligation is to repair the affected finish. It does not extend to consequential, incidental, or indirect losses of any kind.
- Access is required. We need reasonable access to the affected area at a time we can both agree on in order to inspect and carry out the repair.
- Invoices settled in full. The warranty takes effect once the job has been paid for.
Making a claim
Call or email and describe what you are seeing. A photograph helps. We will arrange a time to come and look at it, and if it falls under this warranty we will schedule the repair then and there.
